Lori
McCracken is a rare example of a true country artist. Although singers
with acoustic guitars are a familiar sight, Lori's undeniable gift quickly
stands out and sways even the toughest music critics. With a voice that
is soft, strong, and right on key, her songs tell the story of love, drink,
and wanderlust. A first class performer and published songwriter, Lori
was born into a musically artistic family -- Mom a singer, piano teacher
and drummer and Dad a singer and guitarist. She spent her early childhood
years in many a juke joint and honky tonk, absorbing the influences of
classic female country artists such as Patsy Cline and Loretta Lynn. As
she grew, Lori's songwriting style incorporated more contemporary and
not so traditional influences like K.D. Lang, Melissa Etheredge and Lucinda
Williams. In 2008, Lori entered and won a singing competition held in
Dallas, Texas. Acting quickly on the recognition, Lori tirelessly toured
and performed throughout Texas, growing a loyal fan base along the way.
Among that growing fan base was the owner of a Texas-based independent
record label, AudioMoxie Records, and she was quickly signed. Lori is
currently working on her debut album scheduled for a summer of 2010 release.
An advance release of her new single "Unforgivable Sin" is now
gaining momentum on local public, college and Internet radio.
